Ya está en manos de la justicia Julián Eduardo Cifuentes Gómez, confeso asesino del padre Darío Valencia Uribe en hechos ocurridos el jueves 24 de abril de 2024 y acto seguido la angustiosa desaparición de su cadáver hasta el día 22 de septiembre de 2024.
Durante semanas, la iglesia católica y la ciudadanía hicieron clamorosos llamados, cadenas de oración y pancartas en sitios públicos clamando por la vida y seguridad del sacerdote.
Cifuentes, a quien la Policía llama “El Barbado”, responde por el crimen sacrílego del párroco, al que asesinó dentro de su propio vehículo, una camioneta Nissan Frontier azul que el padre Valencia había comprado a un particular y aún la debía.
Entre las 10:20 y 10:45 de la mañana del jueves 24 de abril Cifuentes lo asesina en Pereira dentro del vehículo propinándole cuatro disparos en la espalda en la calle 38 con carrera 9 bis a pocos metros de la iglesia La Inmaculada, donde el sacerdote ejercía de párroco.
Se paseó por Pereira con el cadáver a bordo
Luego de ejecutado el execrable homicidio, “El Barbado” anduvo por Pereira medio día con el cadáver del sacerdote a bordo.
Primero se desplazó desde la calle 38 aledaña al coliseo mayor hasta el barrio El Cardal en la comuna Cuba donde vivía con su señora madre. Luego, en plena calle dejó parqueado el carro con el cadáver dentro del vehículo y permaneció más de media hora en la casa materna donde entró a bañarse y cambiar su ropa ensangrentada.
Con el desparpajo de un psicópata, pasó por La Virginia y se dirigió al sector de Acapulco cerca a Belalcázar Caldas, parando a tanquear $30.000 de diesel en la estación de servicio de Acapulco.
Luego por carretera destapada y montañosa, Cifuentes se dirige a la vereda La Cascada de Belalcázar Caldas cerca a Acapulco, llegando a un punto alto y solitario, al borde de un precipicio profundo, al parecer ya conocido por Cifuentes, lo que según los investigadores, deja la idea de ser un experto en desaparecer personas.
El asesino también estuvo a punto de morir
Cifuentes intentó arrojar el cadáver del padre Valencia al precipicio. Dadas las dificultades posteriores para rescatar el cuerpo, los investigadores calculan que por lo escarpado del terreno el peso del cadáver le tomó ventaja y ambos rodaron cuesta abajo más de 30 metros. Los rescatistas del cadáver en avanzado estado de descomposición señalaron que ambos, el sacerdote y el asesino fueron atajados por un árbol caído en forma de trincho que evitó que llegaran a lo profundo de la cañada de donde difícilmente Cifuentes hubiera podido salir por sus propios medios.
Después de luchar mucho rato por salir de la hondonada, en pleno calor de medio día y casi insolado, el homicida logró salir del precipicio y casi sin energía “El Barbado” Cifuentes coronó la cima de la montaña y subiendo a la camioneta emprendió la marcha por la vía principal de la carretera Pacífico III dirigiéndose a Viterbo Caldas. Allí en un lavadero de carros frente al cementerio dejó el vehículo ensangrentado. Luego lo pasó al frente, a un parqueadero, en donde pagó por adelantado un mes de parqueo.
Cambio de ropa y regreso a Pereira
En Viterbo, a las 2:30 pm llamó a Pereira y contrató un Úber cuyo conductor lo acompaña a comprar ropa para cambiar la ensangrentada y empantanada. Luego regresa al lavadero de carros y le regala los tenis a un empleado.
De regreso a Pereira y al pasar por el sector de Acapulco y casi llegando a La Virginia, Cifuentes, según el conductor del Úber, se quitaba su gorra negra, miraba todo el tiempo la montaña donde abandonó el cuerpo y echaba bendiciones.
Mientras tanto en Pereira, donde el padre Darío Valencia tenía varios compromisos, ya extrañaban su ausencia, pues no asistió a las 12:30 pm a un almuerzo, ni a un funeral a las 3:00 pm en el cementerio La Ofrenda. Además, su celular aparecía siempre apagado desde antes de las 11:00 am del día del crimen. Ya se sabía que había salido con Cifuentes a recoger el dinero de la camioneta Subaru Blanco que el padre le había pedido a Cifuentes que la vendiera.
Del padre Darío Valencia se sabía que había vendido esa camioneta carro y que Cifuentes andaba acompañándolo al cobro.
Al no poder pagarle al sacerdote, decide matarlo
Ambos, asesino y víctima salieron a recoger el dinero, pero el padre Valencia ignoraba que había sido traicionado en su confianza porque Cifuentes no había vendido la Subaru blanca pues días antes, el confeso homicida engañó al Padre Darío por la había empeñado a un prestamista por la suma de 30 millones de pesos e incluso le habían descontado la primera cuota más el valor del parqueadero y recibió menos de $26 millones por dicho empeño.
Como no hay fecha que no se cumpla, antes de la hora prevista para el pago y frente a semejante fraude, Cifuentes decidió asesinar y desaparecer el cadáver del sacerdote que de acuerdo con las investigaciones, era su amigo de tiempo atrás y sin que se conocieran a ciencia cierta los negocios que tenían entre sí.
Muy orondo, Cifuentes regresó a Pereira sin caer en cuenta que por los compromisos que el padre Darío tenía pendientes esa tarde del jueves 24 de abril, que el celular seguía apagado y que iban a cobrar entre 90 y 100 millones de pesos que valía la Subaru, ya había preocupación porque el sacerdote no aparecía y muchos lo esperaban, razón por la que varios allegados al sacerdote había requerido al Gaula de la Policía. En esos momentos a nadie se le ocurrió que el sacerdote ya estuviera muerto.
Cifuentes sabía que el padre Valencia había obtenido un permiso para no dar misa al día siguiente viernes 25 de abril, lo que fue aprovechado para cometer el execrable y sacrílego crimen y posterior desaparición del cadáver confiado en que ganaba tiempo dada la licencia temporal y el fin de semana siguiente.
El diablo tapa pero también destapa
A su retorno a Pereira el Gaula ya tenía información sobre la obligación de Cifuentes de entregarle al sacerdote Valencia la millonaria suma por la venta de la camioneta Subaru. Al momento de engañar al Gaula sobre el paradero del Padre Darío, coincidió la presentación del prestamista que tenía en su poder el vehículo mientras el CTI reportó que la otra camioneta del padre Valencia estaba en un parqueadero de Viterbo.
Entre el jueves del crimen y el trámite del Gaula del viernes y fin de semana, se dio a la fuga el domingo 27 de abril rumbo a Paris pero al llegar a París el lunes 28, fue capturado.
En efecto, el Gaula, la Fiscalía y las personas que se percataron de la extraña desaparición del sacerdote de Risaralda fueron ágiles y diligentes, al punto que Cifuentes no contaba con la fortaleza de nuestras instituciones y la Fiscalía con la gran ayuda de autoridades francesas, lo capturaron al llegar a París el mismo día de su arribo al aeropuerto Charles de Gaulle, a las 4:00 del lunes 28 de abril.
Desde ese día, tal vez cumpliéndose el designio de que primero está la justicia Divina que la humana, cayó a un calabozo en compañía a otros reclusos africanos y árabes con los que por diferencia de idiomas no podía ni siquiera hablar. Cifuentes sintió que cayó al mismo infierno, pues se había metido con un ungido de Dios.
Hoy después de año y 7 meses, el confeso homicida, llega por fin extraditado a responder por los criminales hechos que estremecieron a la sociedad risaraldense y trascendieron al país y varias partes del mundo, pues no todos los días alguien confiesa que asesina a su mejor amigo y que la víctima es un sacerdote de la iglesia Católica.
