Temido y admirado, en el mundo político no se desconoce que el comunicador y periodista Luis David Duque García es un gurú de la estrategia electoral. Ocurre igual en Pereira, Colombia y varios países donde ha sido exitoso consultor.
Ha recibido varios premios internacionales de la consultoría política, entre ellos el Napolitan Victory Adwards, creado en memoria de Joseph Napolitano, el papá de los estrategas políticos desde los años 60.
El creador del Gallo político, fue otro. Pero Duque es el creador de la demoledora estrategia del Equipo del Cambio que con sus más y sus menos hizo alcalde y senador a Juan Pablo Gallo, alcalde a Carlos Maya y ahora tiene el mayúsculo reto de la candidatura de Maicol Lopera a la Alcaldía de Pereira.
Una investigación de los portales Cuestión Pública y La Silla Vacía, lo acusan de “perfilador” y “mercenario digital”. Lo que quiere decir que, desde Internet, Luis Duque está identificando y seleccionando personas que ejercen influencia en nichos y segmentos políticos y sociales específicos. Según él, eso no es delito.
Supongo que, como periodista de opinión, estoy en su listado de perfilados, pero igual, quienes somos del mundo de la información digital, ya sabíamos de esas prácticas de los llamados estrategas políticos.
Duque reconoce la crisis en el Gallismo en dos entrevistas en mi programa Puntos de Vista en YouTube, a raíz de su sorpresivo mensaje de whatsaap en el que dice: “Le damos la cara a Pereira, reconocemos lo que nos ha faltado y sacamos pecho por lo que hemos hecho. Que nadie pretenda hacernos creer lo contrario, Pereira es la envidia de muchos. Nosotros la vamos a cuidar y mejorar”.
Según él, no es un mensaje con lecturas ocultas. “Todo quien esté comprometido con este proyecto político debe sentir que es parte de ese mensaje”, dijo.
¿Alguien duda del visto bueno del senador Gallo?
El mensaje es un llamado de polo a tierra y una alerta (¿tardía?). Me sorprende porque Luis David se sale del formato de los estrategas políticos que nunca pierden elecciones. Es recurrente que ellos ganan elecciones y son los gobernantes quienes pierden el poder. En la entrevista, Duque reconoce -difícil en él- que ha perdido elecciones, igual que las ha ganado; como espera ganar con Maicol.
Deduzco que su visión de la crisis local la asume más como pereirano que como consultor; y más como parcero del senador Gallo que como militante político.
Luis David admite que hay desgaste de poder. Al sacar pecho, hace el inventario de obras de los dos últimos alcaldes de Pereira. Y al darse golpes de pecho, el chivo expiatorio es Carlos Maya, de quien dice ha sido buen alcalde, pero que nunca se conectó ni tuvo empatía con los pereiranos.
