Sacó pecho el senador Gallo en el acto de unión de las dos principales fuerzas liberales
de Risaralda el pasado jueves en el restaurante El Mirador.
Por las confrontaciones políticas entre los parlamentarios Diego Patiño Amariles y Juan
Pablo Gallo, se advertía que eran incompatibles. La unión del Partido Liberal no era
predecible porque en cifras, Gallo como candidato al senado logró 57 mil votos en
Pereira y con ello el control de toda la maquinaria de la administración municipal. No
se veía que necesitara votos de Patiño Amariles para reforzar a Maicol Lopera.
Todo indica que pudo más el pragmatismo político que las diferencias entre ambos
dirigentes. Se juntaron el agua y el aceite. ¿Hasta cuándo?
A finales del año pasado en un evento político en el Hotel Movich, Patiño Amariles les
dijo a J.P. Gallo y a Aníbal Hoyos: “Podemos ganar Alcaldía de Pereira y Gobernación,
pero no la tenemos fácil”. Y agregó algo que repitió en el discurso de entrega de
avales: “El acuerdo consistió en que el senador dice quién es el candidato a la alcaldía y
nosotros el candidato a la gobernación”. La letra menuda no se conoce.
Los observadores dicen que Juan Diego Patiño como candidato a la Gobernación está
sobrado. Por supuesto, siempre y cuando sean endosables los 34 mil votos de Gallo en
Risaralda. El día de la quema verá el humo.
La pregunta es ¿Por qué el senador Gallo aceptó el acuerdo de unión liberal que de
tiempo atrás no quería? Hay varias hipótesis. La más comentada es que Gallo con ocho
años de desgaste en el poder de la administración municipal, no está seguro de ganar
la alcaldía sin el apoyo de Patiño Amariles y estimó necesario aceitar bien la
aplanadora porque hay descontento, rebeldía y oposición en la plaza.
La otra pregunta es: ¿Qué tan sólida es la unión de Gallo y Patiño? Tuve la ocasión de
preguntárselo al senador y se mostró muy seguro de la solidez de esa alianza que, en
teoría, resta espacio a las demás candidaturas a alcaldía y gobernación y podría
debilitar los acuerdos de gobernabilidad de Patiño con el gobernador Tamayo Vargas.
Nota aparte, es la crítica que en los círculos políticos y sociales se viene haciendo
contra la Sociedad de Mejoras de Pereira por un proyecto de liderazgo político
denominado Politeia, donde dan trato de “muebles viejos” -irrespetuoso y
desconsiderado- a los candidatos políticos mayores de 35 años.
Y agregan, que, desde una entidad supuestamente cívica, algunos de los “maestros” no
tienen autoridad moral ni ética para dar cátedra a los jóvenes que pretenden preparar
como nuevos líderes, y de paso, contribuyendo a seguir manchando perversamente la
politización de la institucionalidad pereirana. Hay que predicar con el ejemplo.
